Twisted Vine Farm | Poppies

After years of working in innovative flower shops and digging around in everything from clay pots, to raised beds, to fields, the business of Twisted Vine Farm was created. Not with big money and 100 acres, but with pocket change, borrowed land and an innovative resolve. I am a nano-farmer and proud of it. In today’s world a little grit and resourcefulness is how the average person carves out a dream.

Oh, I’ll be honest, I longed for the big check in the mail to be able to buy my own land, tractor and crew of workers. But then, I couldn’t tell my customers at the Farmer’s Market that I hand cultivate the herbs and flowers myself. That I custom make the wreaths and sachets and no two are alike, each is unique. I wouldn’t have discovered the joys of wildcrafting and the bounty it brings.

So begins basic living. I’m not talking about “simple living”, that’s a myth and an oxymoron. I’m considering small changes like being frugal and wholesome in your choices. Maybe going down a more difficult road for the sake of authenticity, and taking the tortoise approach instead. I hope you find great ideas and useful goods to help you get started with your version of basic living, whatever it may be, right here at Twisted Vine Farm.
